The Millrace Kitchen has been feeding Monticello since 2009. What started as a 12-seat breakfast counter has grown into the spot locals bring their families, their first dates, and their out-of-town guests.

We source from regional farms when we can — eggs from Piatt County, pork from a family operation in Farmer City, produce from the farmers market May through October. Not because it's trendy. Because it tastes better.

Tom and Diane Kellerman opened this place with a simple idea: serve food you'd actually want to eat, every time, without pretending it's something fancier than it is.
